Fall Edit: Rompers and Jumpsuits, Part 1

Fall is here and we’re ready for it! Even greater news – we don’t need to worry about putting away all of our Summer favorites simply because the cooler weather is upon us. Cute skirts, tops, shorts, and dresses designed for warm weather can be re-imagined for Fall with a bit of creativity! For starters, think of rompers and jumpsuits. They’re cute for your rooftop shindigs, outdoor concerts, and beach trips during the Summer. Have you ever thought of re-wearing a few of those for this warm to cool weather transition season? Take a look below for a few outfit ideas I’ve come up with along those same lines!

PART 1: Midi-Length Jumpsuit with a turtleneck top

I really enjoy this combo because turtlenecks – especially fitted ones for wearing under other clothes – are such versatile closet staple pieces. With jumpsuits and rompers, the turtleneck adds a level of uniqueness to the outfit while still making way for the details of the jumpsuit to take the stage. Turtleneck tops also leave many options open for how you’d like to style the outfit with shoes.

Styled with Heels

In this look, I went with a lovely black romper from Banana Republic Factory and a gray turtleneck from H&M. I styled the outfit with some white heeled sandals from Express. This outfit is perfect for early Fall outings where the weather is still warm enough for open-toed shoes but cool enough to wear the turtleneck. Think about that brunch-time garden party you’ve been invited to or that Sunday afternoon show in the park you’re attending.

Styled with Booties

This look contains a bit more texture provided by the green tie-waist and collared jumpsuit from Lulu’s. The varying colors of the stripes on the jumpsuit open options for the color of the turtleneck to be worn below. I went with the same gray fitted top from my last look and sealed the outfit with some amazing Free People booties that I picked up from DSW. Given the low heel on the booties, this outfit is great for your really active days where you know you’ll be on your feet for a while. It’s casual enough to wear to a quick coffee meetup with a friend yet sophisticated enough to wear to the get-together your friend convinces you to attend with them later that day.

Stayed tuned for two more looks. One is with the same black jumpsuit from above, styled a bit more casually, and the other is a surprise! Also, follow along on IG @jelacreates and be sure to share any summer-to-fall creations you’ve come up with. :)
